Add Lightbox to Images on Squarespace

One of the most popular questions I get asked is can I add lightbox to Squarespace elements.

Now, there is a fantastic plugin on Squarespace Themes called Lightbox Anything that allows you to do this, however, there is also a way to do it natively (and for free) on images!

Let’s take a look.

To add lightbox to your images on Squarespace, head to your edit dashboard and double click the image in question.

Within the panel that appears, move to the Design tab and here you can toggle on Lightbox. You can also select from a dark or light overlay too. Dark means the background will be black, light makes it white.

Select which one you prefer and hit save. And that’s how you add lightbox to images on Squarespace. Super simple and effective.
