Cart Styling on Squarespace

Squarespace has been on an ecommerce binge lately, with loads of new native ecommerce features added.

One of those is the ability to customize your cart icon, allowing different styles and designs.

Within your edit dashboard select edit site header (make sure you already have a cart icon displayed in your site header).

Select the cart icon and then click the pen icon to edit the cart icon.

You’ll be presented with a panel with various customization options. Hit style and it’s here that you can change the styling of your cart icon.

You can choose between an icon or text. For example you could remove the icon all together and instead display text that says “Shopping Bag”. Or you can pick from one of the various icons on offer. There are loads of different cart icons to choose from.

Once you’re happy, hit save.

This is a great new feature as previously if you wanted a more unique cart icon, you had to use custom code. Now it’s a native feature.
