How to extend an expired Squarespace trial

Squarespace ranks as the world’s second most popular website builder as of 2023. Many new users use the standard Squarespace free trial, which is offered for 14 days. However, what if I told you there is a way to extend the free trial period?

Being a popular no-code website builder, Squarespace is a top choice among beginners as well as professional web designers. For those using it for the first time, the free trial period is just not enough time. Therefore, I’ve explained the easy way to extend Squarespace's free trial.

Let’s dig into the details to explore some interesting stuff.

What are the benefits of extending my Squarespace free trial?

Following are the benefits of extending your Squarespace free trial.

  • You get more time to understand the platform and familiarise yourself with its features and tools.

  • It allows you to build and test various elements of your website.

  • You can test your website’s performance and responsiveness on different devices.

  • The extended time gives you the opportunity to think well before deciding on a paid plan.

  • You can share the website with your target audience and get feedback about necessary improvements before the official launch of the site.

How can I extend an expired Squarespace free trial?

There are three ways to extend an expired Squarespace free trial.

  • Add a URL

  • Send an email

  • Become a Squarespace circle member

I’ve explained these methods below. You can also watch this YouTube video to explore them.

Add a URL

To request an extension for your Squarespace trial, you need to add this to the URL of your edit dashboard and navigate to:

/config/extendtrial

This will take you to a landing page where Squarespace will automatically extend your trial for 7–14 days. This extension gives you time to keep building your website and inputting your content. Make sure you are well aware of what goes into a Squarespace website build before you sign up for a free trial.

This will allow you to set the website live before the extension expires.

Send an email

Sometimes, when your free Squarespace trial is coming to an end, you can email them to ask if they will extend it. They may even contact you to offer you an extra seven days. Click on the link for a trial extension, and you will get another seven days of Squarespace free trial.

However, there is no guarantee of getting an extension, and you may well discover you have access for two weeks and two weeks only.

Become a Squarespace Circle Member

The above-mentioned two methods can extend Squarespace free trial for 7 days. Now, what if I told you that there’s actually a way you can get a six-month trial of Squarespace? Yes, six months!

In order to access this, you’ll need to become a Squarespace circle member. Squarespace Circle members have access to an array of Squarespace intel, features that are still in beta testing and the six-month free trial.

To become a Squarespace circle member, you’ll need to build and set live 3 Squarespace websites, all on their own paid plan. Whilst this isn’t feasible for everyone, if you’re building websites, you should have no problem hitting the 3 paid plan websites requirement.
