For brands or individuals looking to target specific audiences, social media is essential. A well-populated social media account is a great way of adding social proof to your brand which is why many people opt to include social media icons on their website.

To add your social profiles you need to head to your Squarespace website settings and under the website subheader you’ll find the social links option.

By selecting social links, you’ll open up the editing panel that allows you to add your social profiles.

Simply start typing the profile URL in the box provided (it will say “add social profile or email” before you add anything). For example, if I was adding the by Crawford LinkedIn profile I would type the URL: linkedin.com/company/by-crawford

Adding a social media profile here will apply the link to all social media blocks across your website. So for example, if you’ve added a social media block to your main header menu, to your footer and to your contact page, the link to e.g. your LinkedIn profile will appear in them all.

You can add multiple different social profiles to your social blocks here as well as adding multiple profiles for the same platform meaning you can link to e.g. five different Facebook profiles from your Squarespace website if that’s what you want.

Linking to your social profiles is a great way of showcasing your brand and encouraging users to check you out on other platforms, helping to raise your brand awareness and nurture your relationships with users. If you have social platforms for your brand, then I recommend always including them on your Squarespace website.
