Squarespace Art Backgrounds: Mini Guide

If you want to add some depth and excitement to your Squarespace page backgrounds, have you tried an art background?

I use one on this website and it’s a great way to make your backgrounds dynamic without needing to add complex code to your site. Art backgrounds are a native Squarespace feature.

Let’s take a look…

Head to the edit dashboard for the page you want to work on and select edit section for the relevant section.

In the panel that appears select the Background tab. Here you’ll be presented with all of the different art background options.

Now in all honesty, some of them are awful, but some of them do look good. There are various art backgrounds you can choose from AND you can edit them.

To edit them you have two choices, you can either click the edit settings button for the art background you choose or you can hit shuffle.

The edit settings option will allow you to manually edit the sections for the background, changing things such as the shape and size, motion and texture.

The shuffle option meanwhile will randomly apply and edit the settings, and you can just keep on hitting shuffle until you find an option you like.
