What Squarespace Pricing Plan is Best For You? [How Much Does Squarespace Cost?]

The question I get asked the most is, “what is the best Squarespace pricing plan for me?”

Squarespace offers four different pricing plans with options for a monthly subscription or an annual payment, which means there’s a lot of choice for users who are setting their website live.

Squarespace has four plans on offer:

  • Personal

  • Business

  • Commerce Basic

  • Commerce Advanced

Personal plans come in at £16 a month, a Business plan is £24 a month, a Commerce Basic plan is £28 a month and a Commerce Advanced plan is £43 per month. Remember though, it does work out cheaper to pay annually, so bear this in mind when you’re picking the plan for you.

Most people will be choosing between Personal and Business, unless you’re an ecommerce store.

The best choice by far is a Business Plan. For slightly more money you’ll have access to everything you could possibly need such as advanced web analytics, free templates, a free custom domain plus the ability to sell products and services on your website.

A Personal plan however only offers the very basics, there’s no advanced analytics and there’s no selling.

The main difference between a Personal and Business plan however is that while a Business plan allows you to add custom CSS and code injections to your website, there’s no option for code injections on a Personal plan, limiting what design changes you can make.

So what about ecommerce?

Well as you can see there are two plan options for ecommerce websites, Commerce Basic and Commerce Advanced.

You can use a Business plan for an ecommerce store but you will be met with 3% transaction fees which will soon start adding up. If you’re planning to sell a lot, opt for a dedicated ecommerce plan.

If you are opting for a commerce plan, the Commerce Advanced really does offer you everything including advanced shipping, advanced discounting and subscriptions, none of which are available on the Commerce Basic plan.

Which Squarespace plan you pick is ultimately up to you and your website aims, but if you want my advice, I’d recommend a Commerce Advanced plan for all those looking to sell products on their website, and a Business plan for everyone else.
