Upload a file to Squarespace [Easy tutorial]

One thing that isn’t exactly intuitive on Squarespace is uploading files.

Whilst adding images, videos, text and new pages are all pretty straightforward, it’s not immediately obvious how to upload files.

That’s why in today’s Squarespace tutorial, I’m going to show you how to do it, and the good news? It’s super quick and easy.

The easiest way to upload a file to Squarespace is to do so via your main or non-linked navigation. To do that, head to your Pages tab and select the + icon next to either the main navigation or non-linked pages.

head to your Pages tab and select the + icon next

Select Link from the menu that appears and click the cog icon. Within the menu that appears here, select file and upload your file from your computer in the upload file section.

Toggle the file choice, be sure to select “open in new tab”, and hit save.

If you want the link to the file to be visible you’ll be prompted to give the link a title at this point. Hit save and the file will now appear in whichever navigation, main or non-linked, that you added it to.

If you don’t want anyone to be able to access the file, simply delete the link. The file will remain uploaded to Squarespace, but the link to access it is gone.
