How to check if Squarespace is down

We’ve all been there at some point. We log into our Squarespace account and start editing a site, but something isn’t quite right. Maybe you can’t make any changes at all or your edits won’t save. Then the worry sets in.

Is it just me? Have I done something wrong? Or is this a wider Squarespace issue that’s impacting everyone?

To find the answer, we need to know how to check if Squarespace is down. I should start by reassuring you that this is very rare. In fact, Squarespace has an uptime of 99.9% but sometimes a problem occurs and as a Squarespace user, you need to know when it does.

The good news is that Squarespace has a great resource that lets us know if the platform has gone down or if there are any current glitches we need to be aware of.

To access the resource go to status.squarespace.com

To access the resource, all you have to do is go to status.squarespace.com

On the page you’ll be able to see the Squarespace uptime from the past 90 days as well as any outages that may have occurred. The resource also gives you more details on the issue and whether it’s to do with site editing, commerce or another area of the platform.

The best part about this resource however is that it gives you the opportunity to sign up for updates meaning you’ll be notified if there are any outages or downtime. This is the best way to stay up to date and allows you to quickly address any issues that may arise.

If issues with a site do crop up, it’s always a good idea to also check the Squarespace forum, Facebook groups and Twitter for real-time updates from fellow Squarespace users.

The key to knowing how to check if Squarespace is down is to stay informed and utilise all the resources available. That way you’ll be able to ensure your site is running smoothly at all times.
