What Are Saved Sections in Squarespace?
Saved sections allow you to reuse content across multiple pages on your Squarespace site. This feature lets you create a section once and insert it anywhere you need, saving you time and ensuring consistency.
Previously, saved sections were limited to standard page content, meaning footers had to be manually recreated on each page. With this update, you can now save footer sections and reuse them across your website.
However, there’s a catch: list sections cannot be saved or added to footers.
Let’s dive into how you can use saved sections effectively…
Step-by-Step Guide: Saving and Using Sections in Your Footer
1. Access the Page Editor
Navigate to the page where you want to save a section.
Click Edit to enter the page editor.
2. Save a Section
Hover over the section you want to save.
Click on the Save Section button.
Name your saved section for easy identification.
Your section is now available in the Saved Sections panel.
3. Add a Saved Section to the Footer
Scroll down to the footer area.
Click Add Section and go to the Saved Sections tab.
Select your saved section and insert it into the footer.
4. Understand the Limitation with List Sections
While standard sections (text, images, and classic layouts) can be added to footers, list sections are not supported.
If you try to save a list section and add it to a footer, it won’t appear as an option.
5. Save and Publish Your Changes
Once your footer is set up with the desired saved sections, click Save.
Your saved footer can now be reused across your site without needing to manually recreate it.
